Atiku’s lawyer is not legalised to practice in Nigeria – INEC to tribunal
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said the lawyer for the People’s Democratic Party is not legalised to practice in Nigeria
Atiku Abubakar’s lawyer is not a legalised lawyer to practice in Nigeria this was a statement by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Atiku’s legal team which consist of 31 legal practitioners led by Livy Uzokwu, had said in his statement that they had the full fact to back their petition .
The petition was filed by Atiku Abubakar challenging the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had asked the tribunal to cancel the petition filed by Atiku Abubakar because it was not signed by a legalised lawyer in Nigeria.
Saying that “the list of documents and witnesses are incompetent and should be cancelled, because it was not signed by a legalised lawyer enrolled by the Supreme Court.
INEC has prayed the tribunal to cancel the petition for lack of competence.
Also in response INEC had accused Atiku of forgery of results in order to prove his case at the Presidential electoral tribunal. This was said by INEC on Thursday 11th April.
Atiku also released results which he had claimed to have gotten from INEC server.
Atiku’s legal team which is led by Livy Uzokwu, has submitted the result sheet to the tribunal claiming that the results were manipulated by INEC in order to favour the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari.
