ATM fraudster paraded by the EFCC in Benue
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) , Makurdi zonal office has paraded one Ikechukwu Sunday Onovo, who is suspected to be a transfer fraudster at one of the new generation banks in Otukpo Benue state
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission in a statement said that the suspect was from Nkanu west Local Government in Enugu state but he lives in Makurdi.
According to the statement “Onovo’s methods includes going to Benue State University and tell the security that he lost his ATM card.
“The unwary security men would then handover the lost but found ATM cards of students to him, to check if his own was among and he would steal some of them.

“With the stolen cards, Onovo would hang around ATM points to offer help to people who have problems operating the machine in the process, deliberately gives his victim the stolen card and take his or her own.
“He will later go back and withdraw all his victims money”.
Onovo who is said to be 32 years old said he has made over N1,000,000 through this fraud.
Ikechukwu alleged that there were also many other young men operating this kind of business in different parts of the country.
Two ATM cards, 15,000 Naira ring, necklace and bracelet were reported to have been recovered during the arrest by the EFCC.
The EFCC said the suspect would be charged to court soon.
