Buhari endorses Lawan as next senate president
Senator representing Oyo North district, Senator Fatai Buhari has said that Senator Ahmed Lawan would emerge as the Senate President
According to the senator, Lawan who is representing Yobe North already have 51 endorsement signatures from among 66 senator elect of the APC.
While speaking with journalists he said “51 out of 66 elected senators on the platform of the All Progressive Congress has signed an endorsement deal and pledged to vote for Lawan”.
Also a House of Representatives elect for Ibadan North federal constituency, Hon. Musiliudeen Akinremi, has said that Honourable Femi Gbajambiamila has enough support to emerge new speaker of the House of Representatives.
Akinremi had told journalists after a meeting with the South-West Reps-elect.
In his words “We have 191 members as of today backing Gbajambiamila. As the South-West coordinator of the Reps-elect in the zone, this number is beyond APC Reps as we have supporters beyond political divides.
“We will keep talking to our colleagues from across the six geopolitical zones. Write it down, Gbajambiamila may emerge unopposed, we are sure of well over 200 members support when the house convene June 11.
“For us, the ninth National Assembly should go beyond party affiliation but the need to have qualified, experienced and highly cerebal lawmaker in person of Gbajambiamila in person of speaker to work with the executive and judiciary to effect positive changes in the nation’s polity”, he concluded.
