Edo Assembly crisis: Reps order security agencies to shutdown Edo Assembly

The House of Representatives has ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Adamu Muhammed and the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, on Wednesday to close the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), with immediate effect.

The House urged, Governor Godwin Obaseki, the state Governor, to issue a fresh proclamation within a week, inline with section 105(3) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999), as amended for a proper inauguration of the state 7th Assembly.

The decision of the House was taken after reports by a Ad-hoc committee headed by, Honourable Abdulrazak Namdas, which was setup to intervene in the crisis in the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA)
