Fayemi to review former Governor Ayodele Fayose’s last minute recruitment of 2,000 workers

Ekiti State Government ready to review the reasons for recruitment of 2,000 workers by the current past Government.

The Government of Ekiti State has announced it’s readiness to review the the reasons for the recruitment of 2,000 workers by the current past Government of the State led by Ayodele Fayose.

Mr Muyiwa Olumilua, the Commissioner for information, tourism and values orientation, made this while addressing group of physically challenged people that were affected by the exercise.

The Commissioner noted that none of the appointments followed the due process, especially that it involves biometrics.

He stated that the recruitment was done hurriedly, that it commenced even till the night of the exit from office of the former Governor.

Daily Post gathered that it was on basis of this that the Governor Fayemi administration setup this commitee headed by the State’s Deputy Governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi to review the appointments.

He also said that the commitee was able to determine the actual available vacancies in the public service.

He said that the commitee had concluded it’s assignment and would soon decide it’s verdict so that the involved persons would know their fate.

Breaking down the total jobs for the 2,000 workers he said that 1,000 personals were recruited into the Ministry of Establishment, 400 into the State Universal Basic Education Board, 600 as teachers into the Teaching Service Commission (TSC)

In his words “We want to assure that available vacancies are equitably filled without prejudice or political consideration”.
