Federal Government declares public holiday
The Federal government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th as a work free day to mark the Ramadan (Eid-Al-Fitr) celebrations
This was disclosed by the Permanent secretary, Ministry of interior, Georgina Ekeoma Ekhuria (Barrister), on the Federal Government’s behalf in a statement which was signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations. Ministry of Interior, Muhammed Manga.
In her statement, she used the opportunity to congratulate all Muslim faithfuls, on the success of the Ramadan fast, she also advised all Nigerians to use this medium to pray for the unity, peace, stability and progress of the nation.
She further advised that Nigerians shun hate speeches, and devise tendencies, and also support the current administration of, President Muhammadu Buhari in order to build a peaceful, strong and united Nigeria, so as to achieve the next level socio-economic development.
In her conclusion, she said that all security agencies under the Ministry of Interior, have been directed to ensure adequate security before and after the Ramadan celebrations.
