FG terminates discrimination between the HND/BSc in some agencies
There was happiness in the air as the federal government terminates the dichotomy between the Higher National Diploma and university degrees in some agencies on Tuesday May 14th 2019
The termination of the discrimination affects all agencies under the ministry of interior which includes the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
Reports from the Daily Trust says that before now, the personnel with the HND were employed into the inspectorate cadre white those with the bachelor’s degree were employed into the superintendent cadre.
The termination of the dichotomy had now made those with HND same as their counterpart with BSc as superintendent cadre.
The confirmation of this new policy was made known by the secretary of the NSCDC, NIS, FFS, and NPS, Al-Hassan Yakut, who added that the approval came after a meeting on May 9th and 10th
In his words “The board has constituted a technical commitee to work out modalities for the implementation, harmonisation of ranks in accordance with the abolition”.
This came shortly after the Minister of interior Abdulrahman Dambazau stated that the Federal Government intend to building more prisons across the country.
