Group calls For Oshiomole’s resignation

The Rivers Unity House (RUH) has supported the calls for the resignation of, Adams Oshiomole as the National Chairman of the APC

The group which is a good governance advocacy group, has joined others who want Oshiomole to step down.

The support of the group was disclosed by the convener of the group, Kingsley Wali, while speaking with journalists on Friday in Port-Hacourt.

Wali in his words said “It is a natural thing in politics that whenever there are losses, people have to be held accountable for the losses.

“There is need to identify the kind of people who made it possible for the party to suffer any kind of loss.

“Just like the party enjoys a decent measure of victory, it would obviously point out those who made it possible, and then compensate them for making it possible.

“So those who are responsible for the body blows APC received should be identified and made accountable so it discourages this kind of attitude.

“I am one person that is most consistent that, Mr Adams Oshiomole is 96 percent responsible for the problems APC had.

“It boils down to nothing but somebody feeling that he knows everything and no other person is smarter than him.

“I think the reasonable thing for APC to do as a party is to ask Adams Oshiomole to vacate his seat.

“If we insist on understanding or characterising the next level slogan of the APC , the kind of attitude Oshiomole exhibited cannot be in tandem with the president’s vision of Nigeria.

“Of what is a  party Chairman who does not accept any form of crticism, once even if it is a councillor of Karadamuda or Akassa that says something about him, he replies in the same measure.

The group also commended the Deputy National Chairman of the APC in the North, Senator Lawal Shuaibu, who also ask Oshiomole to vacate his seat.

“I want to applaud the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Lawal Shuaibu, for what he said in a very elaborate letter he sent to Oshiomole asking him to vacate office.

“This is a point that the man was running a one man show, like I said before, I worry because where we were heading for might not be too nice.

“Like Alhaji Shuaibu said all it takes for the PDP to control the National Assembly was two sits or six or seven sits stubborn APC senators.

“It is a done deal. And there the same man is there threatening hell fire and brimstone, about how APC will not have anything to do with the PDP, in 2019, you still see the party as party of enemies? Who does that?

“Let us not demean ourselves that we won the presidency what about the governorship seats.

“Did we gain more senate seats now that in 2015? No, so if you look at it properly APC lost in the past election.

In Wali’s conclusion ” We are just lucky that the profile of the President got us to where we are today than we control the presidency”.
