One of the aspirants for the position of Senate President in the 9th Assembly, Senator Ali Ndume, has said that he would not step down from the race even if he’s invited to Aso RockĀ

After the withdrawal of Senator Danjuma Goje, there have been talks that Senator Ali Ndume would also step down, if President Muhammadu Buhari, summon him for a meeting.

Ndume had on Sunday, noted that it was too late for him to quit, saying it was disastrous to his political career.

While he spoke on if he would withdraw he said in his words “Stepping down at this period will be disastrous to my political career and it’s not necessary because there is no one and convincing reason for me to step down.

“Why are you asking if I’ve withdrawn or not? I’ve been in the race ab initio, Goje did not at anytime formally announce that that he was contesting for Senate Presidency.

“There is no need for me to withdraw, we’ve passed that level, there is no reason for that, give me one reason I should withdraw.
