Insecurity: Wike seeks help from British government over insecurity
Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, has appealed to the British government to support his administration in the development of the state neighborhood Security Corps Agency
He made the appeal while he received a delegation of the United Kingdom Department for International Development team, on Friday at the government house, Port-Harcourt the Rivers State capital.
Wike said the state is in need of assistance in the training if the state neighborhood Security Corps Agency.
In his words “Virtually all states in Nigeria have security challenges, we have established the Neighborhood Security Corps Agency, to help the security agencies with critical information to fight crime, such information will help the security agencies nip crimes to the bud.
“We need assistance for the provision of necessary security training aides for the operatives of the neighborhood Security Corps Agency”.
The governor also requested support in the area of agricultural development.
“One of our key areas of priority is agriculture, we want to partner with you to develop all forms of agriculture.
“This is necessary because we want to use agriculture to create employment for our youths. In this sector we are looking at crop farming, poultry and fishery”, he said.
