Kogi Politics: No Igala politician can stop my second term run – Yahaya Bello
The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has boasted that no candidate can defeat him in the upcoming Kogi State elections saying he’s capable of defeating even anyone from Ighala.
With widespread reports on the internet that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) plans to choose from the most populated ethnic group in the Kogi State which is the Igala, to contest against Governor Yahaya Bello of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Director General, media and publicity to the governor of Kogi State Kingsley Fanwo, while speaking with the Daily Independent said “In the present Kogi, under the leadership of the current governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Kogi State has changed from an ethnic jingoist State that is closely knitted and ready to move forward.
“No Igala candidate can defeat Governor Yahaya Bello come November 2nd, because the PDP is in disarray, somebody who has ruled for nine (not eight) years is planning to bring his son to rule the State.
“A governor whom the people have passed a verdict on in 2015 and still repeated it during the rerun when his people rejected him and voted for a person whom they know would move the state forward also want to contest.
“The in-law of the first person I mentioned is also planning to contest, So, it’s around the circle of Ibro_Wada which so many leaders of the People’s Democratic Party are not comfortable with.
“The PDP in Kogi State is in disarray while the APC is well – organised and that manifested in the last general elections when APC won the Presidential election, two of three senatorial districts, seven out of nine house of reps seats 25 out of 25 house of assembly seats.
“This is unprecedented in the history of the state and it will repeat itself November 2nd when APC fields Governor Yahaya Bello as it’s candidate for the election”.
