Power supply: Obaseki confirms steady power supply in Edo
The government of Edo state has confirmed stable supply of power by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company in the state
This was made known on Thursday by the state Head of Service, Mr Isaac Ehizowa while he was addressing members of the Edo state Civil Society Organisation (EDOCSO), who protested to the Edo government house over the passage of the electricity theft bill.
Mr Ehizowa while speaking on behalf of the governor of Edo state, Governor Godwin Obaseki, said the position of the governor on electricity still stands and the governor would always be on the people’s side.
The Edo state House of Assembly had on Monday passed a bill to stop electricity theft in the state.
They (Edo state House of Assembly) were accused of collecting the sum of 50 million naira to sponsor the bill by the protesters.
The speaker Kabiru Adjoto said that the the protest was sponsored by some politicians who he calls disgruntled.
