President Buhari well qualified to contest as President – Tribunal
President Muhammadu Buhari is overqualified to contest for the 2019 Presidential election, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, ruled.
According to the Tribunal, President Buhari’s certificate from the Nigerian Military was more higher than the required Secondary school certificate, that is academic qualification to contest for elections in Nigeria.
The Court of Appeal panel chairman Mr Muhammed said “Mr Buhari is not only qualified but is eminently qualified”, Mr Muhammed said this while he was reading the judgement on Atiku and PDP’s petition, questioning President Buhari’s election.
The Tribunal, held that the evidence tendered which regards Mr Buhari’s educational qualification were not to be relied on, since the documents were not created by the PDP.
Atiku Abubakar and his political party the PDP had through their lead counsel, Livy Uzokwu among others, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, was not qualified to contest for elections, alleging that he supplied false information to INEC.
