Senate approves Emefiele’s appointment for second term
Godwin Emefiele was on Thursday confirmed by the Senate as the Central Bank governor for a second term
The confirmation as CBN governor was followed by a screening by the Senate commitee on Banking, insurance and other financial institutions on Wednesday.

This was after the Senate President, Bukola Saraki gave the committee a seven day ultimatum to carry out the screening and report back to the upper legislative house.
Last week President Muhammadu Buhari sent a letter to the Senate to confirm Emefiele for a second term which is expected to last for five years.
Emefiele was appointed as CBN governor on june 3rd 2014.
Emefiele was the Group Managing Director of the Zenith Bank plc before he was appointed as CBN governor.
