Senator David Umaru have been sacked by the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has, set aside the Abuja Appeal Court ruling which declared Senator David Umaru the valid candidate for the All Progressive Congress (APC) 

The court then declared Muhammed Sani Musa winner of the Niger East senatorial district in the last National Assembly elections.

Senator Umaru, the former chairman Senate committee on Justice, Human Rights and Legal matters, was declared winner of the Niger East senatorial district  by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

A five man panel of the Supreme Court in an unanonimous judgement, led by Justice Ibrahim Muhammed, upheld the arguments by Musa’s legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN)  to the effect that Musa won the primaries of the APC and was the valid candidate.

The Supreme Court then allowed the appeal filed by Muhammed Musa marked SC/405/2019 ,and affirmed the Judgement of Justice Folashade Giwa, on the 7th day of February 2019 at the Federal High Court in Abuja, declaring Musa as the winner and valid candidate  for Niger East senatorial district, under the ruling All Progressive Congress.
