The era of sharing public money to greedy politicians is over – Obaseki
The Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki has said that the era whereby public funds are shared with greedy politicians is over in the state
He made this statement, while he was speaking with Muslim faithfuls in the government house on Tuesday, to celebrate the end of Ramadan fast.
According to him, he said that he would not be distracted by detractors in fulfilling his promises.
In his words “Only God gives powers, what is happening in Edo state is the handwork of detractors, who want to frustrate the administration will fail in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people. But that will never happen.
“As a governor, I will continue to do my best and spend the state resources to ensure Edo people get the best.
“The governorship election is still a year ahead, why is playing out is a plan by very few greedy people who are concerned about themselves.
“We will continue to do our best in paying the workers and pensioners and will continue to develop the state as the time of sharing money is over”.
“The resources of the state are meant for people of the state.
The chief Imam of Edo state, Alhaji Abdulfatah Enabulele appreciated the governor for his support and for also receiving the Muslim community.
“We know leadership entails alot, as we have witnessed your developmental strides in the state.
“We will continue to pray for your success. You have done alot in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo state.
“Your administration has provided pragmatic, dynamic polices and programs that have touched the lives of the people of Edo state”, the Imam added.
